That night we ate ice cream and watched The Hunger Games. Drew even liked it!
Sunday I set out for my 8 mile run. It was actually a toasty 32 degrees and the sun was out. Brilliant! I begged Drew to run 3 miles with me so it wasn’t as boring and he “happily” did so. (Did I mention he doesn’t really like to run?)
This is the second attempt. “take another one where I don’t look so miserable”- Drew
We made a seperate turn and I set off for my next 5 miles by myself. I have to say the first 4 miles were really sluggish. I was not “feeling it” per say…I actually tweaked my back about 30 mins before my run (I tend to do this every once in a while, i think it’s a pinched nerve or something in there but this time it was a bit worse…i know. 24 going on 90 ugh) and I can’t say that felt that greatest in the beginning. I think about mile 4, however, my ibuprofen kicked in and I finally go in the groove and finished in a decent time. A new PDR, of course
If you’re wondering..the shirt is the new Oiselle Lux Layer and it is FABULOUS. So soft, I want to live in it! Poppy color
I have to say that the long runs have not been so bad, some miles have the ups and downs but . When this training plan started I was definitely fearing the long run. I used to think that after 5 miles, the runs would drag on and on, but surprisingly the miles go by fast. I kind of count down after each mile and keep myself distracted with music. I have found that its nice to zone out and just think and have some “me” time. I have really been enjoying the long run!
After I got back we went out and saw Identity Thief! We laughed so hard..I love Melissa McCarthy, hilarious!
