I would love to pretend that I’ve always been a health saint; that I’ve never participated in drunk-dancing my way through Cabo, taking one too many shots at a frat party or eating half of a Domino’s thin crust pineapple pizza while sitting on the floor. But that would be a lie. I managed to cross off all three of those things on my bucket list during my four years at college (oops!).
Another lesson learned? How to chug. ASU. Circa 2008
Unlike shots and mis-adventures in Mexico, chugging is actually something I’ve come to embrace. Except Nowadays, I’ve traded Coors light for the lightest beverage of them all, water.

You’ve heard it before – you need to get your 8 glasses of water a day (at least) for optimum hydration, energy and to keep your bod happy. But what I have found is, the best way to jump-start hours of day-drinking, is to start chugging in the A.M. before you have put anything else in your body. In the past, when I started my day with food or coffee first, not only did I feel more lethargic, but I drank less water during the day.
True – all of our bodies respond differently, but if you’re feeling dehydrated or sluggish in the morning, I highly recommend the rise and shine chug method. If that sounds completely boring to you, add lemon to your water for extra zing. Beer Water funnel optional.
