It was a perfectly good day; it just needed a little something.
I was itching to find it, sure it wasn't in my house, so off we went.
He said eat out if you want.
Just like that, the night was sprinkled with a little extra special and I was on a date with my son.
(We went to Barnes and Noble.)
Oh, the things that capture that boy's attention. The trains, of course. And the books with buttons that make noise...but also flashcards and a mouse puppet and displays. We touched things and played with things and walked hand in hand through the store. He wriggled free and I corralled him and explained and pointed and asked.
(We ate at Chipotle.)
The family ahead of us took the last high chair, and it was just as well. Nolan sat on my lap and fed himself beans and taco shell and people-watched. Oh, the boy loves people. He got really messy and I reminded myself not to concern myself with what anyone else thought and we had a blast.
We took he long way home because he's a fan of watching cars (and he can now because he graduated to a forward-facing seat!) and we got home just in time.
It's been a while since I linked up with Just Write , but today seems like a good day for it.
