A health and fitness check in

Posted Jan 05 2013 10:09pm

It’s been a good week. Kiddos mostly sleeping through the night, mama and daddy getting to the gym each day, healthy eating had by all. We are being much more discipline and it feels good.

I thrive on routine and schedules. I have never done well with the go with the flow philosophy. Structure is my friend.

So the holidays passed us by and here we all are..back at it.

Here is my week in workouts

Monday, New Year’s Eve: 30 minute high resistance interval workout on arc trainer followed by a quick 20 minute total body conditioning workout

Tuesday New Year’s Day: took the day off from the gym. Went on an hour long family hike on one of our favorite trails. Not a bad workout considering we had babies on our backs and were walking in snow. I was so proud of Liam for walking the whole way and not complaining once

Wednesday: Back to work and back to 4:30 gym time. I did a 20 minute elliptical warmup and a tabata style superset workout. I was a sweaty mess

Thursday: 30 minutes cardio and super sets of lunges, box step ups, kettle bells and trx

Friday: 10 minute warmup and a fast paced free weigh, bosu ball workout that consisted heavily of obliques and shoulders/ back. This was a very good one and I am sore this morning

Today: Hubby is at the gym now. I think I will go do some cardio when he returns followed by a 15 minute ab circuit.

Monday night was full of food, fun and friends but Tuesday we were back on the totally clean, vegetarian wagon.

Some highlight meals of the week were soba noodle veggie stir fry with spinach and nuefatel wontons, veggies lasagna with homemade broccoli pesto and sweet potato Irish nachos topped with mixed veggies, black beans, avacado and cheddar ( this is sooo good)

It feels really good to be on schedule and eating right. Now I am off to meal plan for the week. Send any good vegetarian recipes my way!
