Home Healthy Eating A day’s worth of eating

6 comments Apr 18/13 Healthy Eating

Maybe I’m a nosy-body, but I always enjoy reading “What I ate”- type posts.

They often give me some great new meal ideas and help to get me out of food ruts.

I’ve actually never done one of my own before, so I’m giving it a go today using yesterday’s meals…

For the past 2-3 months, my breakfast has been a green smoothie.

Even before I drink my smoothie, I always start the day with a glass of warm water and a slice of lemon because it helps to detoxify the body.  And of course, I have coffee- a mommy essential.

I’ve had little to no appetite for the past few months due to bad sinuses, so my smoothies would pretty much keep me full until lunch.  Well, I was more like my old self yesterday, and I was already starving by 10 am (then again, I had been up since 5:30 am) and snacked on strawberries.

Lunch was a salad with salmon, Trader Joe’s corn salsa, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and romaine with a side of butternut squash soup (because everyone wants soup when it is 84 degrees outside).

Later in the afternoon, I snacked on some almonds while feeding Michael and ate a ton of pineapple while slicing it up.

For dinner, MT and I had Chicken Francese with gluten free pasta and salad.

I also had a well-earned glass of Riesling.

Later on, I was feeling a bit snacky, so I had some peppermint tea and a gluten free oatmeal raisin cookie.

And that’s pretty much it!

If you like this kind of post, maybe I’ll do more of them every now and then. :)

Have a great day!

  1. I have been on such a Naan and goat cheese kick lately. Plus I love smoothies or a yogurt mixture in a bowl. I love hearing people say it is that time of the year to fire up the grill – What?!? – we use it 365 pretty much. Happy Thursday:)

  2. You are so healthy. I have to do better! Would you say this is your average day?

    • This is pretty much an average day for me. Sometimes I’ll do roasted veggies for lunch or dinner with some quinoa, and I like to have omelets for those meals too. :)

  3. Yay to healthy eating. Just completed a three-day fruit detox that made me feel good. I love smoothies especially in the mornings.

    • Good for you! Smoothies are such a great way to start the day, aren’t they? They are so refreshing, especially during the summer. Happy Friday!
