Just keeping in step with my last post here by showing more food.
Behold: quinoa chili, braised greens with turkey ham and pink beans, and turkey and quinoa meatloaf (recipes to come). This delightful meal (my lunch) packs loads fiber and protein for only 496 calories. Obviously, I am looking forward to lunch.
Enough about food, let’s talk about days off.
In the last post, I declared that Friday would be on point with calories and exercise to offset the beerfest on Saturday.
Not so much.
I had some sesame chicken Friday night, skipped the gym to hang out with friends, followed it up with three hours of sleep and then drank myself into oblivion the following day. I couldn’t tell you what I ate after all that, but I know it wasn’t good.
Sunday brought a renewed effort to my workout and eating plan, but how I longed for the previous day.
Oh, sunny Saturday at Three Floyds Dark Lord Day. Sunny carefree day off from life.
We need those days, because life can’t be about work and focus 24/7. We also needs moments like my Monday morning weigh in (yeah, I snuck one in) to remind us that those carefree moments come with a cost.
