I updated you a few weeks ago on how eating a 100% raw vegan diet was going. Today, I’ll tell you how the second week and a half has been.
Week 2-3 of Raw Vegan
I did very well, but when I got toward the weekend, I slipped. I had cravings for popcorn. Whenever cravings kick in, I go ahead and have it. I never deny myself anything, because, maybe my body is trying to tell me something.
I use to have issues with eating sweets, but I am amazed that I do not have any desire to eat sweets. That’s a good thing, because refined sugar is not good for the body. I am happy about not eating sweets.
Back to the cravings, why did I have cravings for hotdogs and certain meats, yeah, I know, not the best thing in the world, but again, maybe my body was telling me that I needed some protein . I got this out of my system and I’m back on track.
Body Changes
When I got up in the mornings, I was always having a runny nose and sneezing. This eased up a bit and is now gone bye-bye.
I noticed that I was constipated the first week of starting the raw vegan diet, but as time went by, things got better. Constipation let up and bowel movements became regular at least 2 times a day, sometimes 3. Wow, amazing!
I had some stomach upsets/pains when I gave into my cravings. One day, I had to lie down, because I got sick. My digestive system had gotten use to digesting easy simple foods and when I did eat heavier foods (somewhat unhealthy foods), my digestive system didn’t like that.
My skin is very soft and smooth looking. The texture of my skin is changing and I like what I see. I’ll include pictures to show you the skin difference in a future post.
I am more energetic. During the day, I noticed that I would get a burst of energy, and I would be cleaning, dancing with my daughter, and going for walks.
Conclusion
I believe that eating a raw vegan diet is a good thing for my body, but I don’t think being 100% is for me at this time. It is too restrictive and restrictions usually don’t work for me, because I end up messing up big time.
Flexibility is key and I find that I am a lot happier being flexible. I will stick with being high raw and gradually work my way to being a 100% raw vegan.
I will focus on being a high raw vegan (75-80% raw vegan food). And I will not make it a habit of eating cooked foods, but when the mood hits, I will not deny myself. As long as the food is clean and vegan, it should be okay.
Question: How have you been doing with your diet? What’s your take on eating a 100% raw vegan diet?
Your health is your wealth!
