Mile 1 - "I am feeling good! This may not be as bad as I thought!"
Mile 2 - "This is awesome! I didn't expect to feel this good. Only 2 more miles until the turn around."
Mile 3 - "My knees are already starting to hurt!? Common' keep pushing it!"
Mile 4 - "Finally, the turn around! I can do this, only 4 more miles to go. Halfway there!"
Mile 5 - "Ok knees, please don't give out on me now."
Mile 6 - "2 more miles...2 more miles..."
Mile 7 - "Why did I decide I wanted to push it and run 8 miles today anyway?"
Mile 8 - "Almost there...Almost there...Thank goodness that is over!"
As you can see I had some major mind games going on throughout my run today. I was proud to finish it though, and no matter what I was thinking during the run I was very happy I pushed myself to a new distance record. I finished the entire run in 1 hour and 17 minutes. It wasn't the quickest I have ever gone, but I told myself I was not going to worry about my time and just aim to finish.
I proceeded to do some reading until the boyfriend completed his 20 mile run. We were both drained at the end of it all, but it felt so good!
We went out to dinner with the boyfriends' parents. I had grilled chicken, green beans, and mashed potatoes. It was delicious!
We are now waiting to watch NC State women play in the NCAA tournament. I just had a Green Monster to keep me from snacking for the rest of the evening.
Ingredients-2 cups spinach
-1 cup Almond Breeze
It was just what I needed to make it through the rest of the night without giving into the temptations of soda or candy. I have some work to do to get ready for another week. I am trying to stay positive for a new week, but I sure do wish I had at least one more day left in this weekend.
Did you do anything special this weekend? Any awesome workouts you want to brag about? I did just about everything I wanted to this weekend. We went on a date, caught up on sleep, and got some good runs in.
