I am thrilled to be at the half-way point! And After another long day of meetings yesterday, I was also thrilled to come home to a package on my doorstep.
Inside was a case of beautiful Carrot Cake Larabars. Heavenly!
I am so glad that everyone liked my workout playlist yesterday!
On a similar theme, I’ve mentioned before that I prefer to workout at home. While this isn’t everyone’s preference, I thought that I’d share my personal tips for getting the most out of at-home workouts.
Put that library card to use. Most libraries have DVDs that you can borrow for a few days. My local library has Denise Austin and even Jillian Michaels . You can also borrow manuals that include workout programs.
Switch it up. It is easy to do the same workout everyday or play a DVD to death. Try to vary your routine as much as possible.
Embrace technology. So many cable providers have On Demand workouts. You can also utilize the internet and podcasts. My latest obsession is putting new workouts in my Netflix queue.
Treat your home like a gym. You wouldn’t hop off the treadmill at your gym to throw in a load of laundry, right? Ignore the distractions at home while you workout. I guarantee they’ll still be there when you’re done.
Make it fun. Wear cute workout gear, create playlists and blast some fun music, put a little booty shake into the moves… No one can see you, so you might as well get down!
Get out every so often. Even I can get bored working out at home all the time, so from time to time, I take a class at a gym or visit the yoga studio. Getting outside for a walk or run is always a great way to break the monotony as well.
How is your week going so far? Do you ever work out at home?
I am so happy that I can finally get back into a normal routine today and will be cooking up some fun things in my kitchen, so stay tuned!
