33 Weeks: Makin’ Lists

Posted Feb 04 2013 12:00am

I think that I’ve mentioned this before, but I am a list maker. I definitely got it from my mom! When I’m feeling scattered lists make me feel organized. With a baby on the way EVERYTHING feels scattered, so of course lists are the perfect thing to help me organize what needs to be done.

List # 1: To-Do’s Before Baby Comes (this list is constantly changing!)

  • Install car seat
  • Install baby gates
  • Make a birth plan (or rather “wish list”)
  • Research placenta encapsulation (not sure if I’m doing this, but I want to do a little more research on it)
  • Buy nursing bras
  • Buy nursing tanks (I bought 2, but I would like to get 2 more)
  • Buy nursing cover
  • Pack hospital bags (mine and baby Y’s – does Tony need one?)
  • Wash clothes (newborn through 3 months) and blankets
  • Set-up co-sleeper (do I need to buy a sheet for it? Do they even make sheets for it?)
  • Buy diapers and wipes
  • Make freezer meals (um, maybe)
  • Mani & Pedi!
  • Get mah hur did

List #2: Brooke’s Hospital Bag

  • Toothbrush/paste (travel size)
  • Shampoo & Conditioner (travel size)
  • Deodorant (travel size)
  • Chapstick
  • Lotion
  • Tennis ball
  • My pillow
  • Brest Friend
  • Comfy socks (maybe not – I might just use the hospital socks)
  • Slippers
  • Flippy floppies
  • Nursing tanks (2)
  • Nursing bras (one sleep, on regular)
  • Robe
  • Lounge/PJ clothes
  •  Zip hoodie
  • Throw-away undies
  • Pads
  • Nursing pads (disposable and regular)
  • Hairties and headband
  • Nursing cover (in the mail!)
  • Birthplan
  • Going home outfit

List #3: Last Minute Items to Bring

  • Phone and iPad + chargers
  • Camera bag
  • Black Gap pants (I can’t pack these because I wear them everyday!)
  • Make-up
  • Wallet
  • Blow dryer
  • Straightener

List #4: Baby Y’s Hospital Bag (her diaper bag)

  • 2 blankets (I’d rather use ours versus the hospitals)
  • Burp cloths (2)
  • Going home outfit + matching bow
  • 2 onesies (one long sleeve and one short sleeve)
  • Wubbanub
  • Back-up outfit (in case we have a blow-out or something..) with matching bow, of course.

As you can see I am making my way through the lists. Do I need to pack a bag for Tony too? I know that I’m bringing a lot, but I would rather be over-packed than under. I’m currently washing all of baby girls blankets and clothes (through 3 months).

Is there anything I’m missing?! p
