My second day of juice fasting was another succes. Having only juice fasted for single days before, I was a little apprehensive about what day 2 would bring me – would I get crazy hunger and cravings? Feel faint and weak? Also, I had a spa afternoon planned with my mom so I had to give my juice regimen some thought. I was happily surprised when my mom informed me the spa also offered -freshly squeezed- juices. Score!
(My) Juice Fast Outlines:
Drink 4 glasses (=2 liters/70 oz) fresh juice per day (minimum, but I already have a hard time making it to 4)
9 AM – 2cups/500 ml water with juice of half a lemon
Maca/spirulina/powdered greens in water
One bottle filtered water during/after Bikram
11:30 – Juice #1: Green Lemonade (500ml/2 cups)
( 1/2 large head endive, 3 stalks celery, bunch dinosaur kale, handful spinach, 1 lemon, 1 orange, ginger, Stevia) note: wayyy too bitter
+ 1 magnesium-oxygen supplement, 1 probiotic supplement
During my spa visit: juice of one young coconut (2 cups/500ml) Juice #2: Orange/apple/pineapple/ginger juice (2 cups/500ml)
fresh mint tea, lots of water
= 4 juice (5, including my maca/spirulina/powdered greens blend)
Day two activities:
~50 minutes at home Bikram Yoga in the morning
Spa visit
Day two bodily stuff:
Some very very slight sensations of hunger in the morning
Don’t feel too different from other days, just no incidence of being stuffed or weighed down by food, no bloating etc, which is nice!
Felt good/normal all day, hit a serious slump between 18-20:00. Felt very slow and spacey. Also got a little hungry during this time. Drinking another juice instantly made me feel great again.
Skin is looking really good!
Day two thoughts & observations:
Had the weirdest dream last night! I dreamt I was eating bread and then suddenly I realized I forgot I was fasting! Lol, and it felt so real, scary…
Been reading a lot of journals from others that have documented their long-time juice feasts (30-100 days) and am in awe
I was surprised to not have any profound detox symptoms and hardly any hunger once again…
Also surprised at how easy this all feels, and how smoothly things are going…
It was so great juice fasting while visiting a spa! The heat didn’t turn out to be a problem at all, like I had feared a little. It was nice to facilitate the cleansing process even more. I treated my mom and myself to a half an hour of massage which was lush, and the cute masseur turned out to be very into holistic healing as well. He was delighted when I told him I was juice fasting haha. Awesome, no?
All in all another pretty uneventful day, in terms of juice fasting/detoxing! Other than hitting a serious slump in the beginning of the evening (I suspect not having greens/too much sugar in my afternoon juice and waiting too long before making a new one), my energy was pretty consistent and nothing extraordinary.
