3 Day Juice Fast: Day 1

Morning guys!

Day one of my three day fast was great! A recap:

(My) Juice Fast Outlines

  • Drink 4 glasses (=2 liters/70 oz) fresh juice per day (minimum, but I already have a hard time making it to 4)
  • Daily at home Bikram yoga
  • Daily magnesium-oxygen and probiotic supplements
  • Daily colon cleansing supplement
  • Daily oil pulling

Day one intake:

  • 10 AM – 1.5 cup/400 ml water with juice of half a lemon
    + 1 magnesium-oxygen supplement, 1 probiotic supplement
  • 10:30 – oil pulling
  • 11:15 – Juice #1 : green lemonade (2 cups/500ml)
    (1 head Romaine lettuce, 1 bunch dinosaus kale, 1 bunch spinach, 1 small apple, half a lemon, ginger, 2 drops Stevia)
  • 13:30 – herbal tea
  • 14:40 –  Juice #2 : mellow & mild (2 cups/500ml)
    (1 head Romaine lettuce, 2 pears, cucumber, ginger)
    + 1 magnesium oxygen supplement
  • 16:00 – bottle filtered water (= 2 cups/500ml)
  • 17:00 – herbal tea + bottle filtered water
  • 18:00 – Fresh coconut juice from 1 young coconut (2 cups/500ml)
  • 20:00 – Juice #3 Bloody Mary (2 cups/500ml)
    (1 beet, 2 small apples, 3 celery stalks, 2 huge carrots)
  • 21:30 – herbal tea, filtered water

Day one activities:

  • Walk through the park (1hr)

Day one bodily stuff:

  • Felt amazingly energized, sharp, alert in the morning, during my walk
  • My sore throat that had been nagging me since my 13hrs of travel Friday is deminishing
  • Felt a little ‘spacy’ for 1-2 hrs in the afternoon
  • No hunger, as far as I can recall
  • Tummy making some weird noises early afternoon
  • A very slight headache for about half an hour early evening

Day one thoughts & observations:

  • I feel clear as a bell, sharp as a whistle (during my walk)
  • I love being outside, right now more than ever
  • Fasting is like sending your body on a spa retreat
  • I feel calmer, more peaceful
  • Who knows, maybe I’ll extend it to a 4 or even 5 day fast!
  • Ugh, not eating is boring, how am I going to make it through 3 days of this..
  • Hm, I am not even that hungry
  • I’ll never make it to 4 juices today, it’s just too much
  • Evening: I don’t even feel as though I haven’t eaten today

All in all a good day, no weird highs or lows! Just bummed I skipped Yoga, just really didn’t feel like it, but I did get to be outside in the fresh air in my beloved park :). Here are the pictures of my juices and some of the lovely pictures I took in the park!

On to day two! Sipping warm lemon water as we speak :). Also, I figured it’d be cool to do a series of posts on fasting in general this week, so stay tuned!
