#26. Play Texas Hold’em at a casino/ friendly tournament

Who knew? I’m no card shark, but I didn’t think there was really life after gin rummy. It started about 4 years ago when my old job started a Texas Hold’em tournament through the employees. I had no idea what was going on. But I knew I liked it. And the pot wasn’t too bad either! Even had a trophy! I sought out other friends of mine to teach me. Went online, played a little there (not with real money, duh). Its fun! I tried 5 card stud poker, just wasn’t the same rush as Hold’em.
I have also never been to a casino, even though I have Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun relatively close. I have quite a few friends and family that go there, for fun really, not for profit
So this is my year. I’m not looking to win, I’m just looking to play, with real people. If I lose, I lose (and hopefully not a lot). I’ve been watching Face the Ace on NBC, with Soprano’s Steve Schirripa, its pretty good. Amateurs against professionals. With all their brilliant FullTilt.com advertising, I decided to give it a try online. Its pretty good there too! So, I’d say I would be at an intermediate level, still with a little beginners luck trailing with me.
So Lady Luck, follow me through this journey, who knows, I just may be the next Jennifer Harman !
