I LOVE working with my midwife. She is so nice and easy to talk to. I told her about my week that I had last week and the appointment with the specialist that we have tomorrow (I talked about why we need to see a specialist here ). She immediately told me to get up on the table to she could have a feel to see if she noticed anything out of the ordinary. According to her, she said that for my dates everything feels as it should and I got to here Baby’s heartbeat. She said it sounded strong and perfectly fine. BUT (don’t you love the “buts”) she also said that she does not have x-ray vision and therefore could not tell me forsure what was going on inside the uterus of mine. So, alas… I hope to get more answers tomorrow. I walked out of there feeling wonderful though. My blood pressure was perfectly normal, urine looked great on the stick and I couldn’t be happier for the moment. Am I worried? Sure. As any new Mom would be… but will that change the outcome of tomorrow? No.
I did gain some weight though since my last appointment. Through my pregnancy at 24 weeks i’ve gained 15 pounds. Go me!! I’m right on track. I’m guessing i’ll gain a total of 30, but I really have no idea what the next 4 weeks and the 3rd trimester will bring. It’s so much easier to break down the weight gain when you think about how much extra fluid I have in my bod, the placenta, the baby, my boobs (holy hell). And of course the fat stores that have accumulated around my thighs and butt…. all to help baby grow!
I was kind of bummed out because apparently she doesn’t start measuring my bump until 28 weeks, which will be at my appointment on April 7th. Crappy! I was hoping to have that measuring tape go from my pelvis to my belly button to show how much i’ve grown.
Next time!
Before my appointment I had an awesome lunch filled with MANY superfoods.
Now i’m debating on hitting the sidewalk for a stroll or going to the gym to play on the treadmill. I’ve done really well with my exercise lately! Nothing too manic, but just enough to get my heart pumping. It’s really helped me sleep at night I think and seriously helps lift the mood!
This afternoon I had my 24 week appointment!
Do you love my slippers?

The 8 layer wrap:
Ready? From bottom to top.
Red pepper hummus, avocado, spinach, tomato, cucumber, mature cheese, veggie sausage & mustard.
All wrapped up.
It was SO good. One of my favourite lunches!
What do you usually have in your wrap?
