2013 New Years Resolutions

Posted Jan 01 2013 10:00am

Happy New Year!!!

I cannot believe another year has passed us by! Time really does fly by. Just another reason to live in the moment and enjoy all that life has to offer :)

Looking back on 2012, it was a pretty big year for me.

I never realized all my accomplishments for the year until I sat down to review and reflect on the past months. I’ve accomplished a lot in a year, many of the things are those which I never thought I would be able to do. It’s crazy how a little motivation and determination can lead you to great success. I’m proud of all my accomplishments and I am really excited to see what 2013 brings my way. My 2012 successes have built my confidence tremendously and sets me up for great things in 2013!

Each year I like to set goals (or resolutions) for myself to complete over the next 12 months. Some are little ones, some are big. Either way, I focus on trying my best to complete them. I did a pretty good job with 2012 with setting out to run my first half and full marathons, graduate with honors (a 4-year long goal), and start my track on becoming an RD.

Here’s what I want to do in 2013 both physically and for my well-being:

  • Give back and help those in need (in the process of creating an event for the beginning of the year – more to come on this later!)
  • PR in a half marathon
  • Have fun with running and try new events
  • Learn how to ballroom dance
  • Ween myself off of all sweetenersI’ve done well in the past year getting myself down to 1/2 a packet of truvia per cup of coffee with a little of real sugar – my goal is to eventually only use 1 packet of sugar and no sweetener – it won’t be easy, but with time I know it will happen
  • Learn to Relax – I’m usually go-go-go (which isn’t a bad thing), but sometimes I tend to forget that my body (and mind) need to rest
  • Enjoy the year and don’t wish away time

Here’s to a new year, a new beginning, a chance to make a difference in the lives of others.

I wish a happy and healthy new year to each and every one of you! May 2013 be your best year yet :)

Question: What are some of your new years resolutions?! I would love to hear.
