1st Meet-Up & A Spirited Drink

Posted Mar 16 2010 12:00am

I started the day with Spin. Not the best class ever, but still a decent calorie burn. Later in the day I headed to the gym for Arms & Chest. To be honest, working Arms is my least favorite, because there just isn’t as much variety (only so many ways to do curls) as other targets. But no matter, building my arms is definitely one of my main goals, because they are the first things I start to loose when I cut. Even at 113 I had a booty :p

Weights: Arms & Chest

Chest: Incline Chest Press, machine Flyes, Push-ups, 1-arm Push-ups

Triceps: DB Kickbacks, DB behind the head Extensions, close-grip Presses

Biceps: BB Curls, Concentrated Curls, Hammer Curls

Physical Therapy Update

This is my last week of physical therapy before I’m suppose to check back in with the doctor. After 3 weeks my back is a bit better (if it was at a 10, I’m now at around a 6), but due to other adjustments, my hips are way worse. I’d been out of alignment for years, but my body was use to that, so when they “fixed” it, it’s become painful to stretch like I use to. I know I’ll get it back by spending plenty of time working on it, but I would prefer to not have too. Any who, point being I think Yoga was perhaps equally as beneficial as PT has been. Needless to say, I’m not sad my month is over. I’m very thankful for the people at the office for their help, but I’m excited to get back to Yoga!

Tomorrow’s it’s PT followed by Leg Day with my Trainer.. my fave!

Breakfast was another bowl of Protein Cottage Cheese.. what can I say, I go through phases :p This was 3/4 c Cottage Cheese + 1/2 scoop Cake Batter Protein Powder + 1 tbsp Sunflower Seeds + 1/2 tbsp Chia Seeds + 1/2 tbsp Coconut Butter..

I snacked on a Plain & Simple Protein Pancake between Spin & the Meetup..

As the weather gets warmer, I find myself craving Salads more & more. Lunch was a couple cups of Baby Spinach topped with Garlic & Sesame Tempeh & 1/4 Avocado..

While studying I snacked on a new mix.. Not sure it was good enough to make again, but was edible.. 1/2 c Egg Whites cooked and mixed with 1/2 scoop Chocolate Sun Warrior, topped with 1/2 tbsp fresh Cashew Butter (ground hours before at Whole Foods)..

Post-workout I refueled those muscles with a lovely Protein Mocha (1 scoop Nectar Cappaccino + 1 tbsp ground Flax Seed + 3/4 c Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Breeze + 3/4 tsp Xanthan Gum + Ice), while catching up on a few blogs..

Dinner was another Spinach Salad: 2 c Baby Spinach, 1/3 c Lactaid Cottage Cheese + 1 tbsp Nutritional Yeast + ~3.5 oz Grilled Chicken..

I’ve been asked before.. yes I do drink, just not often and not much.. I’m a huge light-weight! The weather’s been amazing the last couple days, and put me just in the mood for a spirit refreshing beverage. Of course there’s nothing much worse for a physique than alcohol (a reason I’m glad that 2 is usually all I go for :p), so I’m always looking for new tasty lighter versions (my favorite are berry margaritas which run upwards of 500 cals.. scary!). Tonight I mixed up a refreshing perfect warm weather spirited beverage..

2 oz Tuscan Lemonade (by Smirnoff)

2 oz Diet Tonic/Soda/Seltzer Water

3 Blackberries

Mix the liquids together, add blackberries and lightly crush with a fork.

Smirnoff Tuscan Lemonade has 86 calories for 2 oz.

I’m a spazz and a half. I totally thought one of my proposals was due this Friday, but turns out it’s a week from Friday, phew! So I think I’m taking tomorrow off from all day computer work, and instead am going to join my favorite ladies poolside (doused in 50 spf sunscreen naturally)!
