Today was the date of Kate’s 1st annual 10K. AKA – we wanted to run a 10K and there weren’t any in the area, so I designed one. Unfortunately only one participant showed up, so the adrenaline and crowd support were not a plus. I really need to hire better PR people.
Anyway, Hoagie and I ran 6.2 miles outside in just about an hour. It’s a beautiful day here in Chicago, around 75 degrees with a slight breeze. Flowers are planted everywhere, it’s so pretty.
Before we set out on our run, I enjoyed a cherry pie Larabar . SO GOOD.
Of course it turned into kitty playtime, as anything that isn’t nailed down is fair game.
We set out along the lake on our run.
We ran to the museums, and did a loop around the planetarium.
We ran home on a beautiful tree lined path, and finished up along the harbor.
It was a great run, but my knees are feeling it now. By far the longest we’ve run together, and the discussion of the pizza we are going to order for dinner definitely helped us through that last mile.
My blogging has been extremely sporadic lately, and it will probably continue to be that way until after the wedding. I definitely want to get into it seriously, but I also want to figure out what direction I want to take it in. Until then, Jackie has moved on from cable boxes and now sleeps on my lap top whenever I’m not home.
Good luck to the Broad Street runners tomorrow, I wish I could be there with you! Go Kels, Mike, Tracey, and Tom!!
