11 Random Things

Posted Feb 05 2012 9:41pm

Does anyone else love eating soup out of a mug? It just tastes so much better than from a bowl. Dan and I made  Julie's  Broccoli Cheese Soup tonight and it came out perfectly. Such a healthy and delicious way to enjoy the Super Bowl!

I was tagged by  Maddie  and  Callie  to partake in this fun little post ... so here we go!

Rules:
1. Post these rules
2. You must post 11 random things about yourself.

4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.

11 Random Amy Facts:

1. I was born in New York, went to college in Washington, DC, moved to Boston for a year after graduation, decided I was too cold there and randomly moved to San Diego. I met Dan out there (he lived out there for 7 years before he met me) but convinced him to move to Charleston, SC because I wanted to live near my parents when we had children. Success! :)

2. I met one of my best friends on the internet in 1996. We are still extremely close to this day!

3. In 2004, I spent a summer abroad in Australia and New Zealand. That trip changed my life. I actually get really emotional just thinking about the memories and friendships I made there.

4. I've been on a ridiculous number of cruises. Growing up, my parents were obsessed with going on cruises. I went on three cruises a year for many years. I hated going and couldn't understand why my parents kept forcing me on these trips. Now I could wring my neck for not appreciating it more and only pray I can spoil my children through travel one day.

5. In high school, I won the senior superlative for "Most Likely to Be a Stand Up Comedian." Not even close!!!

6. Being a mother has been the most amazing, emotional, exhausting, confusing, and difficult roller coaster ride and I love it.

7. I can wrap both legs behind my head and roll around in a ball. Can anyone else do this? I'm such a freak.

8. My Great Aunt was rescued from a concentration camp by her brother (my Great Uncle) who disguised himself as an German Soldier.

9. Folding laundry is extremely therapuetic for me. I'm sure Dan doesn't mind this (although I despise doing the dishes so it's a fair trade ;) )

10. I get a weird satisfaction out of recycling something. If I see glass, paper, or plastic in your trash can, I WILL pull it out and recycle it.

11. My Mom and Grandma share a birthday (September 1) and I share a birthday with my Great Grandma (September 5). Four generations of women and two birthdates... and only 4 days apart from having us all share the same date! That just blows my mind. No pressure or anything if I have a girl.

A Mix of  Maddie  and  Callie 's Questions -

1. Why do you blog?
After being with Ryan all day, I love this little space to call my own. I love the friendships I've made and having such a fun little space to store memories, write, and connect with other people with similar interests.

2. What is the first blog you read everyday?
It depends on what is showing up in my google reader! But I check twitter, instagram, and facebook when I first wakeup.

3. Where is the strangest place you've vacationed?

Awkward. Definitely awkward. But hopefully funny, caring, and a good listener would be thrown out there as well.

Greek yogurt with sliced banana!
