I'm the kind of gal who needs a goal. When I have a specific goal in mind, I am unstoppable. Nothing stands in my way. However, if I don't have a current goal, I tend to flail about like a flounder-er out of water. I find that my personal goals are most effective when they have a set end in sight - that way, if it's particularly challenging, at least I know it won't last forever. Hopefully, though, some of these goals I set will end up becoming lifelong habits - like tooth brushing for my metabolism.
I've recently confided in my nutrition coach that I feel like I've reached a sort of stalemate health-wise - I'm not gaining weight, but I'm not losing it, either. She suggested that I focus on getting back into a workout routine - that seemed to be the key to my staying on track during the first phase of our work together. So I devised a goal. I'm going to try to walk 100 miles in 100 days.
