Tips that reduce calories

Applesauce is a fat substitute.

In a baking recipe, use applesauce in place of 1/2 the fat to create a low-fat baking recipe.

Apricot puree is a fat substitute.

Use apricot puree in baking recipes in place of half the oil or other fat. It reduces fat and adds a touch of flavor.

Don't put butter on your corn.

Instead, try a light salad dressing, or fresh herbs, or lemon juice.

Focus your entrée on vegetables.
