Wonder Bread is perhaps the quintessential white bread, but, in an effort to stay current and stay afloat after emerging from bankruptcy protection, the company has branched out to produce new variations of Wonder Wheat Breads. This includes Wonder 100% Whole Wheat, Light Wheat, Whole Grain, Soft 100% Whole Wheat and Wonder Whole Grain Honey Wheat Bread which is what I tried. I'm a big fan of hearty bread, so I was curious to see how this new bread would be.
The bread had a softness that was very similar to the Wonder White Bread, which is perhaps more favorable to people who prefer white bread. However, I was hoping that the "whole grain" distinction would provide a nuttier texture to the bread. While this described as "honey wheat," I didn't think the bread tasted particularly sweet. The crust especially lacked sweetness.
