It's all good!. Red wine has a higher content of tannin and flavonoids (fancy word for antioxidants), so it's thought to be better, particularly when it comes to preventing heart disease (all in moderation, mind you).
But here's another take: Past studies have shown that these cardioprotective compounds reside in the skin and seeds of the grape. Grape skins, which contain purple pigment, are crushed with the pulp to make red wine. However, skins are separated from pulp to make white wine, which led people to believe that red wine is healthier for you. However, a group of scientists recently discovered that the pulp of the grape is actually just as packed with flavonoids as the skin, so there are some scholars who say both red and white wine are equally healthy.
Red Wine All the Way!. Red wine contains more of the good stuff you're looking for. The red coloring is caused by compounds that reportedly are good for the heart, circulatory system, and prevent aging too quickly. Make sure to stick to 1-1.5 glasses, though...it's only good for you in moderation! :)
Red Wine but.... Red Wine is the best, due to the antioxidants and everything everyone else has mentioned. But I would like to point out that either one of them can lower your stress level - if you don't overindulge. And anything that lowers you stress is going to move you forward in the world of health. So, drink it up! Cheers.
preference: white. Glad that someone mentioned white might be as healthful as red, because it's all I drink. Not to sound vane, but I look terrible when I drink red: my teeth, lips and tongue turn purple...hideous. I have pretty strong teeth and don't think it's due to weak enamel. Anyway, I say white. It's more refreshing anyway since it's chilled.

I know that a glass of wine a day is supposed to be good for you. Anyone know if red or white is better?
