Hey guys, how is the week treating you so far? Well the good news is, if it’s been bad, it’s halfway over! I love Wednesday, not just because it’s WIAW (What I Ate Wednesday) of course, but because it means the weekend is almost here!
Speaking of WIAW, on Monday night I had a dream that I totally missed WIAW. Blogger problems…
If you’re unfamiliar with WIAW, be sure to head over to Peas and Crayons to see what the buzz is about!
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their kind words about my post late Monday night . You guys are awesome! You brought me back to reality and helped me to realize that one weekend of bad eating isn’t the worst thing that could happen to me. Thanks everyone!
My eats for this week’s WIAW comes from Tuesday.
Technically I had two breakfasts on Tuesday; one before my attempted run and one after. I checked the weather for the day and saw it was going to be 95 degrees, and was already 80 by 9:00am! I wanted to hit the road early for more of my Couch to 5K training. The result? Huge mistake! I know myself and I know that I physically don’t have the energy to work out in the morning, but I wanted to give it a shot anyways. Oh well, lesson learned.
Also, I took a lot of pictures yesterday so be prepared!
Breakfast before my run
(1/2 banana with flaxseed PB and a sprinkle of maple granola)
Breakfast after my run
I wasn’t too hungry after my attempted workout, but I figured I should eat a little something anyways. I was thirsty and wanted something cool and liquidy. Cereal!
(Shredded wheat, almond milk, frozen blueberries, 1/2 banana, strawberry jam)
After breakfast, I took a quick shower and ran some errands. When I got back, it wasn’t quite lunchtime so I spent a little while doing laundry and organizing the guest room.
So messy! I pretty much dumped most of my stuff from college in there when I got home and haven’t taken care of it yet.
A little while later I whipped up some lunch. Since the AC was on, the house wasn’t too hot so carrot almond soup was acceptable!
(Carrot almond soup with shredded parm and parlsey)
And a sandwich. The usual (flaxseed bread with hummus, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado, and American cheese)
With iced coffee I made earlier in the day!
A few more hours went by and I decided I wanted a snack. I had a slice of blueberry banana bread I made the other day. You can check out the recipe here ! It’s dairy free, egg free, and processed sugar free! I topped it with a thin layer of PB an ate it with a sliced peach.
After my snack, I made a spontaneous decision to go blueberry picking! Our neighbors have a bunch of blueberry bushes that they allow neighbors to pick for quite a cheap price! I spent 2 hours picking 8.75lbs (my mom may have picked 0.5 of that)
By the time I got back it was dinner time, but I wasn’t hungry at all. I ate a little bit later anyways though.
Lots of squash was on the menu for dinner! I made a raw marinated squash and turnip salad (marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and onions) earlier in the day, and also ate a leftover stir fry dish with more squash! Also on the menu- corn and black bean salad and tasty ciabatta bread.
For dessert, I remembered I had a chocolate cupcake waiting for me. I had to eat it or it would go bad, and that would be a waste
Definitely getting back on the exercise wagon today, no more morning runs for me!
Goal of the day: more fruits and veggies
Have a great day!
