Why Most Diets Don't Work

My answer is simple: most people will go off the diet at some point and will once again start eating all the foods they formerly enjoyed. I think diets can be good for people ready to make a life-long change in their eating habits or for people who have a medical reason, such as diabetes, for stringently monitoring their food intake. But I'd caution against diets that promise fast weight loss, as experts recommend a healthy weight loss per week is around 1-2 pounds.
