Why Do You Spend Time Doing the Things You Spend Time Doing?

Having gone to an arts school growing up, I have always been interested and drawn (no pun intended) to all things artsy. Once starting my undergraduate in engineering I took a liking to animation and computer graphics. It was the perfect combination of math, physics and art.
Unfortunately with my undergraduate schedule being incredibly packed most of my side interests got pushed to the side (again no pun intended) and I mostly only read articles on 3D World or enjoyed the odd short.
Now that I have gotten into the schedule of working life I have been able to spend my evenings enjoying hobbies which ever way I wish. One of these ways is playing around with 3D graphics on Blender following this online course .
Some of the models I have created are spread through out this post. I know they are not anything special. That isn’t the reason they interest me. They interest me because they are modelled using math and physics concepts.
From shapes to illumination everything is thought out and created and in the end you are left with a three dimensional replication of just about anything.
The reason I am posting about this interest of mine is to bring up the question: Why do you spend time doing the things you spend time doing? In my case I do it because I find the combination of mathematics and art to be extremely fascinating. I do it because I love creating things, especially things of the imagination.
