Weekly Fitness & Meal Plan 9/15

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Ours went by super fast, but we had a blast.  It was really nice to be able to spend time with the hubby after he was gone traveling for the entire week.  I have a feeling it’s going to be a marvelous week.  Marvelous in My Monday is a link-up party that Katie who blogs at Healthy Diva Eats hosts every Monday.  The idea is that Mondays don’t have to be sad and miserable, and they can actually be…well, marvelous!


Marvelous since the weather was in the high 50s/low 60s, I caved and decided to welcome the fall season with open arms this weekend.


And might have accidentally stopped at TJ Maxx and purchase a couple of extremely necessary fall-like candles and pumpkin kitchen towels.


I was burning the apples & cinnamon candle alllll weekend and the hub kept saying it “smells like a fall factory in the house”.  It gave me extreme satisfaction and I told him that was the purpose-muahaha.  We also ordered a couple of gorgeous mums that I’ll be planting as soon as we get them in.  It’s  beginning to look a lot like Christmas fall!!

Marvelous because we spent the majority of the weekend watching football with friends, yummy drinks and sinful nachos.



Marvelous because the hubby let me guide him through a 15 minute yoga sequence before bed last night.  His muscles are super tight (read: extremely tight), so we have decided to try and do a little bit of nighttime yoga before bed every night.  We lit some candles, turned on a peaceful pandora station and flowed away in the living room last night.  I was really relaxing and a great way to wind down before bed.

Marvelous because I am feeling extra motivated to get an awesome week of workouts and be as productive as possible. The best way for me to stay motivated/productive is to plan out my week.  I don’t always stick to it exactly as I plan, but it’s nice to have an idea and some sort of guide to get me through.

Tentative fitness plan-

Sunday- off

Monday- upper body strength/30 min stair master or elliptical

Tuesday- cardio class + yoga

Wednesday- off

Thursday- cardio class

Friday- legs

Saturday- power yoga

(Additionally, I’ll walk Herky for at least 20-30 minutes a day and try to do some sort of yoga sequence if I’m at home and can’t make it to a class.)

Meal plan/guide/ideas:

- salmon  (my FAV salmon recipe!) & sweet potatoes

-crispy chickpea salad

-tomato and zucchini pie with cilantro pesto

- mushrooms/tilapia/sweet potatoes  (I’ll use that recipe as inspiration to make my own)
