The Vegan Sourcebook is excellent http://books.google.com/books?id=6Ia5eZIlgLUC
Oh, and try iron. When you're bleeding, you're losing a lot of iron. I found that my periods got better when I started cooking in a cast iron pan, and being careful to make sure I ate lots of leafy greens during my period.

I have been a vegan for five months now - to treat chronic fatigue syndrom. I have felt 100% better. It is amazing what changing diet can do. My only concern is that my periods seem to be more difficult - I have more mood swings, the fatigue starts to set in again and I start to crave no vegan foods (cheese, chicken). Is there something I should be eating more of during this time of the month? I am taking primrose oil, calcium and B12. Can you recommend a good reference book on vegan diets?
