My husband Tom, was pouring through my cookbooks today and decided to make a Rustic Italian Soup (vegan) from the cookbook we bought while we were in Santa Monica at the end of the summer. We bought it at a restaurant that we loved called, Real Food Daily. The owner, Ann Gentry, has a background in macrobiotics and her food was so delicious we had to get a copy of her cookbook, The Real Food Daily Cookbook.
Tom's rendition of her soup was wonderful. As he tasted it, he surprisingly said, "this is the best soup I've ever had," or he may have said, "this is the best soup I've ever made," and, "the tangy taste is from a lemon." I had to agree that this soup was deliciously creamy and the best ever soup! I'd eat it for lunch tomorrow if we had any leftovers, but we didn't. If I had to say what the most important ingredient that went into it was, I'd have to say the love.
