To those of you who are eating only organic...

How often do you go to the grocery store? My goal is to eat only organic produce and naturally raised meats, but I seem to need shop more often - 3 times per week instead of 1 time. Is this true for you also?

I buy mostly organic and things don't stay as fresh as long, especially bread as Pixie said. I usually visit the store two - three times a week, but I rather do that than make one big purchase every week.
Thank you Larisa and Pixie. Since I'm trying for 100
% organic, It looks like I'm going to have to go shopping 4 times per week. Maybe this will change in the warmer weather when the fruits and vegetables can be grown locally and I can get them before they begin to spoil in the store.
Another option is to buy frozen organic veggies. It's not idea, but it may cut down on the number of days you go shopping. Most Europeans shop daily for fresh bread, meat, and veggies, so you're just adopting a healthy, European lifestyle :)
I usually buy bulk items either online or the first week of the month. Every week after that, I focus on buying perishables and other things that are easier to carry home/don't have to be delivered.

Good Morning America did a segment on "How to Save on Organic Food" - here is the link to the website: http://blogs.abcnews.com/gma/2008/03/want-to-save-on.html Take a look at it before it's not avalable on-line anymore.

Wow, I am impressed by you all. I don't like to hop in the car and go to the store more than once a week. Maybe if things were in walking distance I'd do it differently. At least I'm saving gas...
