TGIF. I am so excited that it is the weekend and the Wolf Moon is already shining brightly here in Austin, Tx. Just in case you haven't heard:
Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. It offers anyone with clear skies an opportunity to identify easy-to-see features on the moon. This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights.
It really is quite spectacular.
So I have a few fun things that are going on this weekend. First, I will be teaching my last Saturday class at Hill Country Fitness at 8:30am. Hill Country Fitness has canceled all of its pilates and yoga programs due to the economy and the growth of their kids programs, they decided to focus on continuing to build that. This has been coming for quite some time. And as one door closes another opens so I am happy to be moving on to the next opportunity.
Second, I bought a Cuisinart Pure Indulgence Ice Cream-Frozen Yogurt & Sorbet Maker today and am looking forward to making some Greek Frozen Yogurt and am considering buying an automatic yogurt maker to make my own fresh yogurt. (I have a gift certificate) Does anyone have one of these? And if so do you actually use it? My daughter, Zoe and I love yogurt and I think it would be fantastic to make our own. So on the agenda this weekend is to at least start with making some frozen yogurt.
Steve is also going to be taking us to his favorite restaurant near UT's campus called the Flying Falafel & Po-Boys. The restaurant serves Middle Eastern as well as New Orleans food. The owners moved to Austin after Hurricane Katrina and Steve swears by their Po-Boys. This is a dream come true for our family because I love Middle Eastern Food and everyone else loves Po-Boys, one-stop shop. I love Mona's in New Orleans, they have the best falafel sandwiches so I am looking forward to giving the Flying Falafel a try tomorrow.
Today's eat started off with the classic AB & J on Ezekiel English Muffin. There was no bananas in the house the morning (god forbid) so I went for the classic. It was actually quite delicious but I always feel better eating a banana on top. It fills me up and provides me with the potassium I need before running.

It was another rainy day and I ended up running in the parking garage and adding in some squat and lunge series into between floors. I have yet to do my ab exercises but the night is still young.
After teaching Bliss Boot Camp (kudos to the ladies that showed up on this rainy cold day!) and training my morning clients, I stopped at the grocery store and picked up BANANAS and was in the mood for an Egg White, Bean and Cheese Quesadilla so also picked up those supplies.
Egg White, Bean and Cheese Quesadilla
1 La Tortilla Factory 100 Calorie Whole Wheat Tortilla
1/4 cup Liquid Egg Whites
1/4 cup Fat-Free Refried Beans
1/4 cup of 2% Milk Mexican Cheese Blend
2 tbsp salsa
Yum! This was warm and gooey and oh so good.
After school, Zoe and I ran errands while Steve and Emmet where at Destination Imagination and since we were all getting home at different times we decided to "fend for ourselves" tonight. I went for a Greek Banana Raspberry Oatmeal Square Bowl. Honestly, I really have to have one banana a day to keep the doctor away.

3/4 cup Fage 2% Greek Yogurt
1 banana, sliced
1/2 cup red raspberries
1/4 cup Quaker Oatmeal Squares
I am currently, letting a piece of the Raspberry Yogurt Pie thaw for 30 minutes before I dig in! That pie is really, really good.
