In my search for the right advice and essentially the right plan to develop better eating and exercise habits I stumbled upon, The Natural Makeover Diet by Dr. Joey Shulman. In this book Shulman is able to break down for the reader various factors that go into living and eating your way to a healthy lifestyle. She doesn’t simply touch on these factors but delves into them, leaving the reader feeling not simply motivated but actually able to accomplish one’s goals. Shulman also focuses on the issues of both inner and outer beauty, and the relationship amongst the two. There is a four step process Shulman explains that can help readers to permanently lose excess weight, increase your skin’s health and become more energized. I discovered that Shulman takes it one step further than most authors and explains in vivid detail but still in language that the average reader can understand, the meaning of various terms such as trans fat, slow carbs, pro-biotics, etc. She leaves the reader fully knowledgeable and aware of the process they are about to partake in and if on the off chance they still have questions, Shulman recommends various books, websites and nutritionists for further consult. I admit that at first I was slightly fearful of the idea of doing a diet, but found that Shulman’s approach is not simply a diet, but a better way of living. After following Shulman’s advice and various tips, alongside a regular work out routine, I have noticed an improvement in my weight, skin and much higher energy levels. I would recommend this book to anyone who is afraid to partake in a diet, has had difficulty maintaining a healthy lifestyle or is simply looking for their life to take a positive change.
