The Good, Bad and Ugly of Nutrition: Proteins

Posted by Tracii H.

When deciding what's healthy and what's only marketed to appear healthy, how does one know for sure? Here's a table of the healthy foods vs. the unhealthy ones:

BEANS: Good: Beans cooked without animal fat or salt. Bad: Canned pork and beans, frozen beans, canned beans with preservatives and salt.

EGGS: Good: Boiled or poached (limit 4 weekly) Bad: Fried or pickled

MEATS: Good: Skinless turkey, chicken, lamb (limit 3 3-oz. servings weekly) Bad: Beef, pork, lunch meats, duck, goose, hot dogs, smoked/pickled/processed meat, spare ribs, organ meats
