About a week and a half ago, I gave myself a challenge over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend: solve soggy kale. Indeed, I think, the answer is not quite as complex as I believed it to be. The truth? Simple: less oil, (or at least, don’t massage it so intensely into the kale as I had been doing).
On an somewhat unrelated note, I gave my first raw foods gift to a friend. It was simple, but still – small acts of kindness make my day! I had always told him about raw cacao nibs and how awesome they are, so I finally made this “trail mix” of goji berries, raw sunflower seeds, raw pumpkin seeds, and of course, raw cacao nibs! It made me feel so good just to spread the raw love. You know what I mean? Do you ever do small things that give away who you are and let others feel the raw vibe? Next, I plan to make collard wraps for my neighbour (who is also my lab partner!). Hahaha.
P.S. Cacao nibs-receiver is also my fellow hippie. We plan to develop a solar-powered greenhouse garden monster after we’re done school and well off where we will grow candy cane beets and heirloom tomatoes. I need some vegan support, guys. Canadian vegans, Waterloo vegans, Toronto vegans, where are you?? Blogger vegans, where are you??
