Feeling tired, sluggish, and just plain blah? Have some extra weight that just won’t move off your body? Feeling older with each passing day? Are you missing that youthful glow?
Sometimes we need to shake things up a little bit so our bodies don’t get complacent. We need to do something different. We need to step off the Standard American Diet treadmill that we have all been on for a very long time.
I’m not suggesting anything crazy. This isn’t about fasting or eating weird things! No pills. No obsessing with the scale. No outlandish and unending exercise.
I’m talking about giving your body a rest. Allow it to reset and refresh through delicious nourishment from God’s green Earth. Enjoy some glorious green smoothies (give them a chance!) and lots of good sleep. Reconnect with God, reconnect with your loved ones, and reconnect with yourself. Sound good?
Then, I have a Challenge for you. How about 10 days of clean eating? You can do anything for 10 days, right?! So, for 10 days, eat as close to natural as possible. I’m talking lots of leafy greens, fruits, veggies, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and of course, water! Intuitively, you know what to do for optimal health and happiness, however you intuition maybe have been clouded by this junk food nation. You know those Twinkies aren’t making you happy. You know your energy would skyrocket if you were fueling your body well. Right?
So, throughout the 10 days of your personal Eat Clean Challenge, eat as much raw, living food as you can. I’m talking uncooked leafy greens, fresh veggies, and juicy fruits. The more raw you can eat during the 10 days, the better. You get more living enzymes and minerals in raw foods that are lost in the cooking process. So, go raw!!
And, go green! Never had a green smoothie before? Now’s a great time to try it. I challenge you to have one every day of your 10 day Challenge! I know you will love it. This is a fantastic way to get lots of raw in your daily nutrition. When you have a smoothie, you’re getting lots of fiber and tons of nutrients! Here’s a video on how to make a very simple, yet delicious, green smoothie: http://sheshineswellness.com/how-to-make-a-green-smoothie
The focus during your Challenge will be to eat so much of the good stuff that you’re crowding out the not-so-good stuff like white flour, refined sugar, highly-processed/packaged foods and carbonated/caffeinated beverages. As you begin to crowd these things out of your nutrition, you will begin to feel better, look better, and BE better!
Oh, and during your 10 day personal Challenge, be sure to get 8 hours of sleep, going to bed by 10:30 every night. Your body needs nighttime sleep so your organs can refresh overnight. Sleep is one of the most important things you can do for your body, and something that most of us are lacking! And, daily stress reduction during your 10 days is imperative.
