Steak Knight

Posted Feb 20 2009 7:24pm
Since the boyfriend is currently speeding away from me to start his vacation visiting some of our college friends in South Carolina (he's a teacher and schools are off for the coming week), we had to celebrate Valentine's Day together last night. In the mood for a good piece of meat for once (that's what she said!), we chose PJ's Steak House in Forest Hills, Queens.

It was entirely awesome, due to the good food, entertaining waiter and hot date. However, because I was too bashful to take pictures with flash in such a classy (and frustratingly dim - screw romance!) restaurant, my pictures are super dark. Nonetheless, I would love to share a couple shots with you because it was quite a treat.

Regrettably, I didn't remember to take a picture of my iceberg wedge salad til I was done, but it was at one point topped with fantastic blue cheese and curiously (delightfully) fatless bacon...

Here are the steaks...my filet mignon and veggies are in the foreground, then the roasted garlic mashed potatoes that we shared, and if you squint, you can see Alex's skirt steak draped across his plate, along with the same broccoli and carrots I had.

And, drumroll...dessert. Here are the two we shared: tiramisu in the foreground (the middle layer was ice cream!) and chocolate mousse cake in the background (NOT ice cream, thank Bob).

...aaaaaand food coma.

zzzzzzzzzzzzz
