Split Pea Soup

Posted Jan 08 2012 2:23am

This is a great recipe for all of you that don’t like to cook! That’s right people, this recipe is so simple that you don’t even have to cook. All you need is the ingredients, a crockpot, and some time. An awesome meal to prepare in the morning, and eat at night after a long day of work and training. This recipe will serve approximately 10 people, but if you don’t want to share, just put the leftovers in the fridge! Enjoy  :)

Ingredients:Split Pea Soup Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Split Peas
  • 1 lb. Baby Carrots
  • 1 lb. Small Red Potatoes
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Yellow Onion
  • 1 Tbsp. Seasoned Salt

Prep Time / Cook Time:  10 min / 8-10 hours

Directions:
Begin by dicing potatoes, garlic cloves, and yellow onion. Add split peas to crockpot first, then add in all other ingredients on top. Lastly fill the pot with water (you can also use chicken broth) until all ingredients are covered by approximately an 1inch of water. Turn the crockpot on low, and let sit for 8-10 hours. Stir occasionally, about once every hour if possible… if not, no big deal! Once the potatoes, carrots, and peas have become soft you know it’s ready to eat.
