According to recent studies from a variety of scientists around the world, eating spicy foods can be a treat for more than just your palate. Scientists say that spices help curb hunger pangs, strengthen muscles, and improve your overall mood. Another team discovered that adding two teaspoons of dried red pepper to food helped study participants consume fewer calories and fat in later meals. And researchers at the University of South Carolina also found that curcumin, a substance that turns turmeric yellow, helps reduce inflammation and aids in muscle repair post-workout.
