Smelly Coffee

Posted May 25 2010 12:00am

Good afternoon June Bugs! Today, I had a cup of what could possibly be the world’s smelliest coffee! I ran out of my normal ground coffee yesterday and I refused to give in and pay more than a dollar for a cup of coffee from a place like Starbucks or my work cafeteria. I dug through my cabinets and found mostly empty bags of coconut cofee and spiced gingerbread coffeeThinking that the coconut flavor might compliment the spice flavor, I decided to brew the two mixes together and wound up with a smelly pot of joe. Despite the funky smell, I actually liked the taste of it! I’m thinking of writing a song about it along the lines of Smelly Cat . ;-)

My face feasted on a blueberry scone with a side of fruit this morning before work:

And for lunch, I packed myself a Morningstar Chik Patty  dressed with some swiss cheese, ketchup, mayo, lettuce, and a sanwich thin bun. I was out of tomatoes and am now out of lettuce.

For an afternoon snack, I packed the other half of my apple from yesterday with a tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter:

That apple did not last long enough!!

I loved everyone’s list of their top 5 favorite foods. After much soul searching and internal debate, I finally came up with mine:

That was really hard! I should have asked for everyone’s top 20 items. :-D

I mentioned the other day that my love for scones developed from working at an English Tea Room for a few years (which happened to be my first job). Out of all the jobs I’ve had, I think that was my favorite place to work (partly because of the scones). The owners were a British man and his wife who was from Thailand. They were so much fun to work for and his accent was so much fun to listen to! What was your first job? What did you like or dislike about it?
