Sleeping, Obesity, and Eating Healthy Nutritious Food

Posted Apr 30 2008 11:01pm

What would you think if I said that not getting enough sleep at night is a contributing factor in the problem of obesity?

It's true, for both adults and children. Concerning children, a recent study published November 2007 in the Pediatric Journal reports that increasing sleep in greatly reduces obesity in children.

How? It's simple. When the body doesn't get regular,
restorative sleep, it is thrust into a state of stress. When our bodies are stressed from lack of sleep, we feel stressed. How do most folks deal with stressful feelings...EATING. And we usually aren't eating healthy nutritious food when we eat for comfort.

Common sleep robbers both for adults and children:
caffeinated beverages, too much stimulation before bedtime, inconsistent bedtimes and wake-up times, watching TV or playing video games in the evening.

Solutions to these unhealthy habits: DO THE OPPOSITE!

Obesity in children is a very, very serious issue. But we can do something about it when they are young. We can set and stick to consistent bedtimes and waketimes, we can cut down or cut out caffeine for our kids, we can read to them or talk with them quietly in their rooms before sleep time, and we can TURN OFF THE TV AND VIDEO (also games) in the evening.

And to greatly reduce the craving your children are having for unhealthy, non-nutritive foods you can give them the
URI FEAST. This whole food based juice powder, when mixed in water and consumed daily, will jump start their body on real, live whole food nutrition. This will give them a huge advantage in the battle against unhealthy habits of the young and obese.
