Sleep to lose weight? Insomnia makes you fat?

New Research Confuses Experts - UKMedix Health News

Sounds far fetched we know , but this study suggests the more you lounge in bed and sleep the less likely you are to be obese.

Nutritionist London Yvonne Bishop-Weston says "It's a very small study on a very select group (nurses). We know that stress can contribute to thwart weight loss, it could simply be the nurses who were sleeping less were more adrenally stressed."

Dr Eliasson, of the Integrative Cardiac Health Project at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre, Washington DC, said: "When we analysed our data by splitting our subjects into 'short sleepers' and 'long sleepers', we found that short sleepers tended to have a higher BMI (28.3) compared to long sleepers, who had an average BMI of 24.5.
