Sitting & Snacking Leads to Tooth Decay & Obesity

Posted Dec 18 2008 8:13pm

Sitting in front of the tube and snacking on sweets increases a child's risk of developing both dental decay and obesity, Medical News Today reported.

Carole A. Palmer, EdD, RD, professor of general dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine offers insights and thoughts about the link between dental decay and obesity in her article, "Dental Caries and Obesity in Children: Different Problems, Related Causes" -- which appears in Quintessence International.

Of course, we've know that all those culprit carbs can lead to dental problems and obesity, but it's intriguing that a dental professor is discussing the connections between the two.
