It's not just in the late Spring and Summer that fresh food is fun. The root veggies, the red peppers, the dark greens, orchard fruits all shine in the fall. I was just at an Amish market in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania that really showed all the bounty of the land. I am preparing all kinds of butternut squash puddding, along with stuffed eggplant. This is the phytonutrient season!
