School Lunches: Healthy Food is Hot

Posted Dec 18 2008 7:33pm

Who says you can't get kids to eat healthy foods at school?

Give up your preconceived points of views. If healthy foods are served for school lunch, sales don't decline, a University of Minnesota study found.

What's more, those nutritious lunches don't necessarily cost schools more to produce, researchers found.

Thanks to Yahoo News and Associated Press writer Steve Karnowski for alerting us to this promising phenomenon.

Among the more exciting conclusions: When researchers crunched the numbers, they learned that schools serving the healthiest lunches did not see a falloff in demand.
