I am scared of the dark because I am a late night snacker. There are several reasons for this - I'll start with the most bothersome.
1. It's a habit. I am used to coming home at night and snacking. End of discussion. I've always done it and I'll have to make a concerted effort to change.
2. I'm really good at eating healthy during the day. But when it gets dark... it's like vampire comes out.
3. There are several late night convenience stores right up the street. Not stocking my fridge or cupboards with goodies won't stop me.
4. I like to stay up late. And the urge to eat is a response to my body realizing I'm not going to bed anytime soon. It needs to prepare.
So, there are my four reasons that I'm a late night snacker. I wrote them down so I could take a look and decide the one that was really holding me back.
I've decided that it's #1 (knew it would be). If I'm going to change, I have to make a concerted effort to change. So, I'll start small. No eating 1 hour before I go to bed. In a month, I'll go for 2 hours. Then 3... That's the goal.
