Save the Date for the Best Free Wine Tasting in Boston

I know most of my readers are not from Boston, but for those of you in the area I couldn’t not share news of an upcoming free event in Boston. Twice a year the Wine Gallery’s Brookline location holds a Grand Tasting and the store has just announced that the next one will take place on March 7 between 3 pm and 6 pm. Many local wine stores may have free tastings but what makes this one special is the sheer variety of wines. My boyfriend seems to remember them advertising over a hundred wines and although I cannot be quoted on this, I am certain there is a lot. We’ve been to all of them for the past couple of years and we typically start out strong, trying every wine in our path. Eventually though there are just so many to choose from that we have to switch to only trying the varieties we know we like. Seriously, there are that many good wines. I typically wait until the grand tastings to restock my wine as I always find a few favorites at decent prices. And if wine is not your thing they often have small selections of other alcoholic beverages to choose from. Last year there was also sake, mead, Belgian beers, hard cider, and vodka. I highly recommend putting it on the calendar and who knows, perhaps I will see you there.
