All good intentions are rewarded right?
Lately, I’ve been bothered by the fact that I haven’t been accomplishing much in my evenings. When I leave work, I’m not tired. But the moment that I shut my car engine off, a wave of tiredness and laziness overcomes me. I end up just sitting down and struggle to have to get back up to do something.
I decided today that enough was enough. I wanted to get something done today! Right before I left work, I asked myself what could I accomplish this evening and feel good about? I decided that if I could just do my laundry and clean the bathroom, I would be satisfied enough. Still concerned that I would succumb to the laziness, I decided to put my intentions out there so I couldn’t forget about them.
That’s right. I wrote myself a not on my hand that I knew I wouldn’t be able to ignore! It was a little embarrassing, but also made me feel like I was back in sixth grade when I used to write on my hand something like History HW due Tues or I <3 SOS (SomeOne Special).
But my note work! I could feel the laziness hit me once I got home, but looked down at my hand and felt inspired to do something. And like I said, all good intentions are rewarded! While doing laundry, I found a lost $15! Score!
On to food now, right?
I foolishly left my camera’s memory card at work yesterday, so pictures are minimal! For dinner yesterday, I had a large bowl of chili topped with shredded cheese and sour cream and scooped up with some sweet potato chips. Chili in the pot:
Made with sweet yellow, orange, and red bell peppers:
A handful of white chocolate chips and an oatmeal cookie were had for dessert, i.e. the most important part of my day.
For today, breakfast was a mug of Fiber One Honey Clusters cereal and lunch was pulled BBQ chicken with watermelon. Yum! I then had more than my fair share of trail mix later in the afternoon.
Dinner was a bright, colorful serving of pasta salad:
Another oatmeal cookie and handful of chocolate was consumed for dessert.
Did you ever used to write yourself notes on your hands? Still do?
Expect to see more notes on my hands… I think that they’re pretty effective!
