Rested

Hey guys, Happy Saturday!

After a daylong blog hiatus and a LOT of extra sleep… I think I am finally rested. I started feeling exhausted at the beginning of the week, and it only got worse as the week went on. I tried going to bed at 9 for a few nights, still didn’t feel too hot. Finally Friday came and I decided I needed the rest … so I slept in, skipped class and spent the day studying and relaxing. I worked in the evening, but I skipped blogging, came home and went straight to bed, and finally… I feel back to my energized self. 

On top of feeling exhausted, my eating has been haphazard for the past week. I’ve been eating more intuitively than anything… I had a few pieces of halloween candy there, and yes, I am eating some gluten again - but I’m making sure what I do choose to eat is healthy, whole ingredients. I’ve been focusing on eating less processed foods and getting more fruits, veggies + healthy fats in my diet… and it’s paid off. On top of the extra sleep, I feel lighter, and more refreshed… oh, maybe because I AM LIGHTER… 3 pounds lighter! Yes, I don’t know how I did it… well, not really. I wasn’t counting calories, in fact, I haven’t recorded what I was eating aside from on the blog in over two weeks. It wasn’t that Body For Life wasn’t working, I mean I LOVE the workouts and the balancing of Carbs + Protein. But it didn’t feel like me. I wasn’t eating how I, intuitively know my body wants to be fed. When I started listening to my body, the weight started coming off. I’m now four pounds from my goal, my ‘happy weight’ so to speak. But I’m not going to dwell on it. I’ll just keep eating well, and as long as I feel good… that’s what matters. 

Ok, so that’s what’s up with me. 
Here’s the food!

Friday. 

Breakfast… Yep, I jumped on the oats in a jar bandwagon. I loved the pumpkin butter oats!!

Snack…
2009_0623AL 0% Oikos mini (40z) + banana + 2 tsp flax. I missed my flax!! So good for me =)

Lunch…
2009_0623AN My mom’s bean soup. This has a mix of beans- kidney beans, white beans, green beans, some tomatoes, onions and a lot of spices. Along with 1 wasa crispbread. Yum!

The soup filled me up very well when I took a quick trip to the gym. I didn’t want to do anything too hardcore because I was still in relaxation mode… but I did 20 minutes of incline walking on the treadmill paired with 30 minutes of BFL style legs + abs.

Then I came home, showered and had a snacky…
2009_0624AA Whole red pepper (veggies!) and a buncha hummus. No measurements, just a good sized scoop.

Dinner was on the go- I had to work at 5:15 and work is SUPER tempting… I’m basically smelling/staring at my two favorite game-foods all day- buttered popcorn + salted soft pretzels. Free day only! So I made myself a fabulous wrap to scarf down before I clocked in.

I packed it up with a big macintosh for a later snack.
2009_0624AG Did the trick! I had the wrap before going in, and the apple mid-evening when I got hungry. No snacks when I got home, just SLEEP! 

Saturday. 

I woke up this morning, energized, and excited for my free day. I’m keeping up on the free day thing… because it keeps me in check all week long knowing I have a day to splurge. 

I slept in until 7 and it was COLD as I was leaving for breakfast!!
2009_0624AH Brrrrr. Luckily breakfast was warm and comforting!

 [Duh.] Everything bagel, toasted with garlic + herb cream cheese. Medium vanilla chai made with 1% milk… which I found to be too sweet!   I used to LOVE chai lattes in HS… guess my taste has changed!

Well, I still love my sweets…

Had a handful while I spent 3 hours studying at Bagelz.

Then I headed to the grocery store, browsed a bit  for about an hour and loved every minute… oh, and I stopped by the bookstore and picked up this…
  

Which I have been wanting to read for SO long but have not gotten around to. I will give you a full review when I am finished!

Dessert was two unpictured halloween leftovers- Mini Butterfinger + Mini Take Five. Another two favorites!

And now I plan on doing some more grocery shopping with my mom… don’t judge. I love my grocery shopping ;)  

Then cheap dinner out because we’re on a budget …  and work, 6-godknowswhen… I’m working an O.A.R concert… any fans out there? Should be a good time.
