This varies from person to person depending on our individual body requirements. But here are some general rules to begin with:
1. Take your meals 3 to 4 hours before you hit the gym.
2. Opt for a light snack 1 to 2 hours before the exercise.
3. While eating, go easy on the foods that are high in fat. Instead, go for foods that feel light on the stomach.
4. For snacks, you can try fruits, or a smoothie. For me, a cereal bar works best because it is filling, light and also gives energy.
5. A definite no-no is to eat a heavy before your exercise.
