My pear cherry detox smoothie is a delicious way to help cleanse your body with ease. Sweet cherries, juicy pears, and earthy beets comes together to create a powerful elixir smoothie that will help you get rid of health-depleting toxins. I wanted to share some easy cleansing and healing recipes for all of you to enjoy after the holiday season. I really like drinking smoothies for breakfast because they are so simple to make and they don’t make me feel sluggish or tired in the morning.
When you start your day off with nourishing, energizing foods you can get so much more accomplished in the morning. I used one of my favorite organic plant-based protein powders in this smoothie because your cells needs protein in order to detoxify properly. If you have a protein powder that you prefer please feel free to use it in this recipe.
Beets are one of my favorite healing foods. Beets are a potent blood builder and they help remove toxins from the body. Beets are rich in key antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin A, iron, calcium, magnesium, folate, and fiber which all work together to help heal the body and boost your metabolism.
Sweet pears are a fabulous fruit for detoxing. Pears are rich in phytochemicals, antioxidants, anthocyanins, beta-carotene, flavonols, lutein, zeaxanthin, and fiber which help remove toxins and free radicals along with chronic inflammation.
Cherries and Tart Cherry Juice
Cherries are a sweet antioxidant-rich superfood fruit that has a wide variety of powerful nutrients that aid detoxification and healing. Juicy cherries and tart cherry juice contain beta-carotene, melatonin, iron, vitamin C, vitamin E, folate, potassium, magnesium, anthocyanins, bioflavonoids, and fiber which all work together to fight inflammation and degenerative diseases like cancer, arthritis, and gout.

1. Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Taste and add stevia if you want the smoothie sweeter. Pour into two glasses and enjoy!
Homemade Almond Milk
Soak 1¼ cups of raw almonds with ½ teaspoon of unrefined sea salt in enough purified water to cover the almonds, overnight. Drain almonds in the morning, rinse, and drain again. Place in blender along with 3 cups of spring or filtered water and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh strainer or nut bag and use in the recipe. Pour the remaining almond milk in a glass mason jar and cover with the lid. Store milk for up to 3-5 days.
