Its day 2 of our healing whole foods detox cleanse! I’m so excited to share our detox cleanse with all of you and I hope that doing it will help you start on the path to vibrant health and wellness! Pear Avocado Green Smoothie is a day 2 green smoothie recipe for our 5 day healing whole foods detox cleanse. This smoothie should be enjoyed for both breakfast and a mid-afternoon snack.
Pear Avocado Green Smoothie is a creamy delicious blend of Comice pears, avocado, green oak leaf lettuce, lemon juice, raw walnuts, vanilla, and coconut water. This cleansing smoothie blend is a rich source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, protein, phytochemicals, nourishing fats, omega-3 fatty acids, and fiber which will help detox and rejuvenate your body.
Green smoothies health benefits are many including providing your body with a boost of energy, key nutrients, hydration, and fiber that is easy for you to digest and use for healing and rejuvenation. To find out more detailed information on the benefits of green smoothies check out my post .
I used organic Comice pears in this smoothie because I adore their sweet flavor, creamy flesh, and fantastic aroma, but if you can’t find them feel free to use whatever organic pears are in season in your area. I also cut and froze the pear cubes the night before I made this smoothie because I like my smoothies to be cold without using ice cubes which dilute the flavor.
Sweet pears are a fabulous fruit to include in a detox cleanse. Pears are rich in phytochemicals, antioxidants, anthocyanins, beta-carotene, flavonols, lutein, zeaxanthin, and fiber which remove toxins and free radicals along with inflammation.
Avocados are one of my favorite fruits because of their great taste and impressive health benefits! Avocados contain an amazing amount of carotenoids including beta-carotene, lutein, alpha-carotene, and zeaxanthin that function as important antioxidants to fight inflammation, strengthen your immune system, and protect your body against free radical damage.
Avocados are an excellent source of healthy fats including monounsaturated fat and alpha-linolenic acid an omega-3 fatty acid. Avocados are nutrient-rich with high levels of vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, potassium, folate, and fiber. My favorite avocados are Hass because the taste and creamy flesh are perfect!
Lemon is alkaline fruit which combines beautifully with leafy greens and enhances their earthy flavor. Lemons are a powerful detoxifier that is high in antioxidants, vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, and calcium that all work together to neutralize free radicals, support the liver, remove inflammation, and fight diseases like cancer. Lemons are also an aid to relieve constipation and are a great fruit to include in any cleanse.
Green Oak Leaf Lettuce
Green oak leaf lettuce is a water-rich leafy green that contains many nutrients for healing. This mild flavored leafy green is rich in chlorophyll, phytonutrients, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, folate, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, iron, and potassium.
Sprouted or raw walnuts are an excellent nut to enjoy for both the taste and nutritional benefits. Walnuts are a rich source of omega-3 essential fatty acids (ALA), phytonutrients, antioxidants, copper, manganese, and fiber which all contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system along with offering protection against cancer. Soaking raw walnuts in salted water removes anti-nutrients and make the nuts easier to digest. Sprouting nuts turns them into a living food rich in enzymes.
Coconut water is a refreshing beverage that is loaded with calcium, potassium, and magnesium which are electrolytes that replenish and hydrate our bodies. Coconut water also contains B vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, and antioxidants which all help prevent premature aging.

Pear Avocado Green Smoothie
Raw Vegan, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free, Sugar-Free
3 cups young coconut water*
2 cups organic Comice pears- cored, cut into cubes and frozen
2. Drink ½ of the recipe for breakfast and refrigerate the remaining smoothie in a glass mason jar and enjoy for a mid-afternoon snack.
*Young cococonut water comes from young Thai coconuts that are white on the outside with a pointy top. If you can’t find them in your area feel free to purchase packaged young coconut water from companies like Harmless Harvest, Vita Coco, Harvest Bay, Body Ecology, One, or Wilderness Family Naturals or use filtered or spring water.
